Extending that manicure

Here is a tip to extend the life of your manicure.  Of course always be sure to apply an additional top coat 24-28hrs after applying the polish.  Inevitably there will be chips though, and then you can use a nail polish pen like the one below to apply a random design toward the ends of your nails (where they are most likely to chip).

You can buy pens like these at any pharmacy type store.  The design will draw attention away from any chips or cracks and after applying another top coat you can get a few more days out of your manicure.  Be careful though... these pens are water soluble, which is fantastic if you mess up because you can correct it without ruining your painted nails underneath, however you will need the additional top coat or it will wash right off.  Your design should be so random that you can't really "mess" up anyway.  Check mine out below.
